MoteOS Changelog
New features, changes and fixes in each MoteOS release.
v0.1.30
2026-10-28
Added
- New Mail app: add Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo, Fastmail, QQ, 163 or 126 accounts and read them in a three-pane layout with a unified inbox, threaded conversations, Gmail-style keyboard shortcuts, search operators and undo send. Remote images stay blocked until you show them or trust the sender.
- Agents can read, search, draft and send mail for you. On an account set to ask first, an agent’s message waits for you to approve, edit or reject it, with a banner and a notification.
- Mail settings cover the reading pane, undo send delay and trusted senders, plus per account the agent send policy, how many days of mail to keep offline and the cache size.
- Synapse, App Forge, Atelier and Maestro now run on your own assistant, Motchi, with no separate agent to hire. A sparkle Assistant button in the toolbar shows or hides the chat.
- Photo, Office, MoteCut and MoteCAD gain an Assistant panel (View > Assistant, Cmd+J) with one conversation per document. Before sending, it offers to save so the assistant works on your latest version.
- MoteCAD can convert drawings between DWG and DXF in your MoteOS sandbox when this computer cannot do it itself, and the original file is never changed. Agents also gain a MoteCAD skill for working with your drawings.
- The Chat sidebar adds Apps and Selection filters: Apps groups conversations by the app they came from and reopens them there, Selection lists chats started from the selection toolbar, the HUD or the pet menu.
- Grimoire can sort the inbox by date added or by name.
- The MoteOS menu adds Enter Full Screen, Minimize and Zoom for the whole MoteOS window, plus Hide MoteOS and Hide Others on macOS.
- Hey members can add each other as friends straight from a group. Group owners can turn this off.
- The About window now links to this changelog.
Changed
- Your default assistant is called Motchi everywhere in MoteOS, and every new chat starts with Motchi. Your own agents can no longer take that name.
- An app’s conversation opened in Chat is now read-only, with a Continue button that takes you back to the app.
- Launchpad no longer shows Installed Skills and MCP; manage them in Market and Connections.
- The Terminal prompt now reads user@moteos.
- The longest an agent can spend on a single computer-use task now follows your plan’s long-task limit.
Improved
- Market holds up on a slow or flaky connection: it retries, shows the last loaded home page right away, keeps app icons cached and reports far fewer outages.
- Images in Chat and Hey load from a local cache, so reopening a conversation no longer downloads them again.
- AI chat transcripts use slim scrollbars that appear only while you scroll and never scroll sideways. Long code wraps and keeps its line numbers, and wide tables fit the column.
- When your credits run out, Chat, Maestro, Synapse and Atelier say why the reply stopped and when credits reset, with View Plan, upgrade and Retry options.
- Photo draws pen strokes faster and adds brush presets and Import Brushes. Agents can also create a blank image without opening Photo.
- Scheduled task and agent reminder summaries are one clean line instead of raw code or error output.
- When the same account is signed in on several computers, an agent’s action on a window goes to the computer where that window is open, even if it is not the one you are using right now.
- Connecting a remote MCP server retries a slow start, and a timeout now says the server may still be starting.
- Finder explains when a repository’s Git settings block a pull and names the settings involved.
Bug fixes
- Deleting Desktop, Documents or another system folder on a paired device no longer deletes it in MoteOS. Sync issues now says the folder was kept and how to get it back on that device.
- Files picks up changes inside very large folders, refuses to copy or move a folder into itself, and no longer reports a folder as deleted when it is still there.
- The task center no longer keeps items you cannot clear (archived chats, stopped or day-old approvals, plan cards) and shows every question of a multi-question card.
- Plan cards show the plan itself instead of a bare file path.
- Inbox previews no longer show internal headers or swallow placeholders written in angle brackets.
- Blueprint script nodes now receive the blueprint’s inputs, and node names can be any display text.
- Agent command block rules no longer stop harmless commands that merely contain a blocked word.
- Agents can press shortcuts that end in punctuation, such as Cmd+, or Cmd+Shift++, inside app windows.
- Maestro narrates in your chosen voice or one that fits the deck’s language, and the slide number no longer covers the slide title.
- Agent Studio and agent pickers no longer list built-in app agents such as Maestro and Synapse.
- Maestro, Calendar and MiniApp chats no longer appear as ordinary conversations in the inbox and search.
- Installing an App Forge app from Market no longer fails on a name clash, and a name that is really taken is explained in plain words.
- Changing your display name no longer fails with a sync error, and any failure message appears in your language.
- The Hey call background picker now opens and lets you choose from My Files or This Computer.
- Accepting an Idea Box invite for a project you already joined no longer shows an error.
- Starting MoteOS with a saved sign-in no longer leaves Market and other features unavailable for the first 20 seconds.
